Men’s Soccer vs Malcolm X

Hey it’s Noah, your host of ‘Home Game Heroes’.
The Men’s soccer team improved to 8 and 4 on the season, with a 3-2 victory over Malcolm
X. From the outset, both teams were playing pretty well. Defense ruled the first half
as each squad kept the other from really getting any quality chances on net. However, SSC started
to execute their normal game plan of ball control, spreading out the passing, to open
up shooting gaps for the offense. Malcolm X looked tired chasing the Bulldogs but caught
a break on a bad turnover, netting the first goal of the game with 2:12 to play in the
first half. Another Malcolm X goal early in the second and it looked bleak for the home
team. Resiliency paid off for South Suburban as Ricardo Avalos knocked in a goal on a a
tough play to the cut the lead in half. That sparked Coach Gonzalez’ squad and they kept
pressing, scoring two more goals, as Avalos netted the game winner with eight minutes
to play. The Bulldogs caught a break when Malcolm X appeared to net a goal to tie it,
but it was called off by the official. With two goals on the day Ricardo Avalos is our
‘Home Game Hero’. The next home game for the Bulldogs is Saturday, October 6th, versus
Kennedy King at 1:30 PM. For ‘Home Game Heroes’ I am Noah Nowicki, and we will, see you next
