Absolute Madness in Burkina Faso

[Applause] we’re starting today’s episode in the capital of Burkina Faso waka waka Doo goo an unpronounceable city with a lot of incredible structures like the waka Doo goo Cathedral it’s right here I think it starts to rain there was a rain drop the waka dugu Cathedral is not the only majestic religious building in a city a few blocks away you can find la grandma scare or the grand mosque the Holly Centre for the dominant Muslim population of Waga dugu burkina faso is a former communist country and the revolution square in the city centre reminds you of this era looks kind of communistic as a person from Slovakia I know what I’m talking about look at this building for example that is very strange we’re still not done with weird buildings Central Bank of West Africa it this futuristic strange-looking building I think that’s enough of buildings not a big fan of buildings let’s try something more interesting like eating local food the national dish of working a fossil is called tall as you can see I’ve already started it’s actually very similar to Oxfam in Togo it’s like a dough and it’s made from corn flour mixed with boiling water it has almost no taste there is a little taste in a background unlike Hawk pimiento bowls usually served with a variety of sauces this one is called gamba and it’s made out of tomato paste and some kind of plant called Gumby I have no idea what it is but it is it is delicious it is really delicious it’s very slimy and sticky he obviously eat it with hands it’s served with beef as well big sticky thumbs up for your kuzey in burkina faso sometimes the African gods decide to give the white man a gift for two months I was whining I was dreaming I was dreaming and whining at the same time about virgin mojito I know it’s impossible to find virgin mojito here in Africa especially in rural areas today I was whining too because it was extremely hot look what I found in a local supermarket thank you [Music] I want to cry I never thought this moment would come me drinking virgin mojito in Africa turn up the camera [Music] by the way we are sitting in front of a cinema here it’s called Cena bore bore kena Cena now Cena bikini oui Mon francais samalisha group voltina Faso is famous for its movie industry the biggest African movie festival called fest Paco is held here every two years so we decided to go and see a movie here it starts in three hours so before that we’re gonna rest a little bit and we will come back for the for the gem of cinematography called the secret del envelope it’s gonna be awesome not sure if it’s drama or comedy it’s gonna be awesome [Music] very very strong movie what was really interesting is that some of the actors were looking directly to the camera sometimes and the movie was interrupted by a shampoo commercial I was amazed the day wasn’t over it was time for something even more entertaining football the World Cup qualifiers were underway with burkina faso being first in its group only a few steps away from the sensational advance to the World Cup football fever struck this country despite a nil nil draw against Senegal Burkina Faso still had the possibility of advanced in its own hands a home match against Senegal would be played in Wagga dugu in three days and as it was one of the most important matches in the history of this great country we could not miss it maxi Baku bonsoir eh let’s watch some football the taxi drivers telling me it’s not a good idea to film here it looks like madness I’ll try to film something but it’s not a good idea I trust him this is way too good not to film it look at this madness [Music] whoa [Music] [Applause] [Music] I’m pretty sure we’re the only white people here I haven’t seen a white person here oh look at this Stadium Wow this is gonna be something [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] no way don’t do shit I think it Holly [Applause] [Music] so Burkina scored a goal and evening it’s a super coupon for those people get up Russell one of the last chances of the game billion [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] my grandchildren don’t die because of malaria [Applause] [Music] react ambulance somebody probably got a heart attack I wouldn’t be surprised you didn’t tell me that sit there with a glass wall [Applause] Lutie now remains first in the group after his drone day long would probably be gone [Applause] [Music] [Applause] and I won’t be able to fall asleep today I’m still shaking I love this country they’re celebrating as if they’re won the World Cup I love it I love the atmosphere here [Music] I think there is no explanation needed you’ve seen it that there was just one of the best moments of my entire life and this is why traveling to countries like Burkina Faso is so amazing Burkina Faso is still first in their group there are still two more matches to go but men if they qualify I know what team I’m gonna cheer for in the World Cup I hope you
